Dear Family Member:
This week our class will be focusing on why people immigrate to new places. Immigration is an important part of our country’s history.
Here are some activities that you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be practicing.
Word Workout
- Words to Know: figurative language Help your child use the words to write a made up story about a child coming to America.
- Spelling/Phonics: long e You will say each word on the list and then give your child five seconds to spell each word on the list correctly.
Help your child read a story and complete a chart to find the theme

Esta semana conversaremos sobre las razones que tienen las personas para emigrar hacia nuevos lugares. La inmigración es una parte importante de la historia de nuestro país.
Les indicaremos algunas actividades que pueden realizar con su hijo o hija para ayudarlos a reforzar las destrezas que practicaremos.
Ejercicios con las palabras
- Palabras para aprender: Lenguaje figurado Junto con su hijo o hija escriban una historia sobre un niño que emigra a Estados Unidos.
